Newsletter subscriptions
If you subscribe, Black Squirrel Labs collects your email address so it can send field notes and related updates. Buttondown processes and stores the subscriber list, sends confirmation and newsletter emails, and handles unsubscribes and delivery events on our behalf.
New website subscribers are asked to confirm their address before becoming active. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe mechanism. We do not sell or rent subscriber information.
Website infrastructure
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and security signals to deliver and protect the site.
The site requests its display and interface typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may receive ordinary request information when your browser loads those font files.
Analytics
Black Squirrel Labs may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and page performance. It is configured as a privacy-focused measurement service rather than an advertising or cross-site tracking system.
Retention and control
Subscriber information is retained while you are subscribed and as needed to preserve unsubscribe, suppression, delivery, and compliance records. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email.
